DICK WHITTINGTON was here ... Oh yes he was ...

The Guildhall is the heart of the City of London, and largely due to the real Dick Whittington.

We are privileged to have a private tour of Guildhall, kindly arranged by Dennis Cotgrove CC a freeman of the Guild.

The history of the Guildhall takes us back to 1411. The story is absolutely fascinating from its trials including 'queen' Lady Jane Grey, to its present use by Common Councillors for their deliberations.

Partially destroyed in the Fire of London, bombed in the last war, and now restored to its former glory.

The tour will include the history of the building, and the many famous events that have taken place Within its walls. In the afternoon there is the chance to observe Common Council in session.

On Thursday 16th July meeting in Guildhall Yard at 11am.

Donation £5.00 to Guild of Educators.
